Workshop on Building CIML Virtual Organizations

Call for papers:

We invite submissions of concept and tutorial papers addressing issues of virtual communities in computational intelligence and machine learning. The topics include but are not limited to:

  • frameworks for virtual organization that enable sharing
  • building and using interactive collaborative web sites
  • repositories of CIML data and software
  • CIML programs, application tools, application data, models
  • Java(TM) as a global open source interoperable standard for CIML applications
  • integration of Java(TM) with other platforms
  • new software tools in the CIML
  • CIML software tools that support other scientific/engineering computing
  • developing standards for CIML software and data
  • allowing open access to computing resources to the general public
  • interactive virtual learning approach in CIML for non-specialist
  • legal, security and other issues of sharing data, software and computing resources

Submissions of Papers:

The papers should be submitted in standard IEEE Manuscript Format in PDF by email to: cimlvin@louisville.edu by September 15, 2008. All papers will be reviewd and those accepted will be published online and on CD at the time of the meeting.

Call for live software demonstrations:

We encourage the participants to prepare short presentations of software developed at their laboratories or as a result of a research collaboration.

Call for software submissions:

We encourage submissions of software for computational intelligence and machine learning. The software can be submitted at www.cimlcommunity.org. All applications will be reviews and those accepted will be availiable to the public at the web page. The software submission site will remain open after the workshop.

Travel Grants:

A number of travel grants will be available for participants, especially for authors.
